Round 3 When? Spring 2008 When? Early 2008 When? From May 2007. The exact submission deadline can be obtained from your teachers or found on the IPhO website. When? September to the end of October 2007. When? The problems are sent to all prize winners of the first round. How? Once again, theoretical and experimental exams are on the program. In preparation for the IPhO, problem seminars are also held that are specifically aimed at typical olympiad-style questions. How? Now you must work on two theoretical and two experimental exams. The solutions should be logically complete and not unnecessarily long. To solve the problems it is permitted to use textbooks or formula collections, provided the sources are cited. Formulas found in the common textbooks need not be derived. Only individual work is allowed. In particular, no help or write-ups from others may be used. Lower-secondary students receive a points bonus. What can you win? The five most successful not only make up the Olympic team but, with this round, also go through the selection process for the German National Academic Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes).
